  • To mark the Queen’s 90th Birthday there is to be a children’s & community  ‘Party in the Square’ in the afternoon of Saturday 11th June 2016.  See article in this Post magazine.

  • Dog fouling has been reported in the town. Please be aware that this is a reportable offence.

  • Cllr. Jill Blud was confirmed as the next Deputy Mayor of Llandovery for the year 2016/17

  • CCC to lease Pantycelyn Hall to LTC.  Neuadd Pantycelyn Committee will manage the Hall; C.Cllr I. Jackson & Cllr. D. Burgess are the Town Council representatives on that Committee.

  • Friday Bus to Brecon not to start until Autumn 2016.

  • LTC welcomed to Llandovery the Festival of the Celts.  Festivals in Llandovery for 2016:

                                   Carnival:                                     BH Monday 30th May 2016

                                   Llandovery Motorbike Weekend:  8th/9th/10th July 2016

                                   Festival of the Celts:                   12th/13th/14th August 2016

                                   Sheep Festival:                           24th/25th September 2016

                                   Firework Display:                        End of October 2016 (date to be confirmed)

                                   ‘Turn On’ of Christmas Lights:      25th November 2016

 

  • Rugby:

          Congratulations to Llandovery R.F.C. on getting through to the SWALEC Cup Final to be held in

          Cardiff on May 1st.  We wish them well.  Congratulations also to Harri Doel who gained his first

          Welsh Cap on Sunday 17th April when Wales under 16 yrs beat England 23-22. Congratulations

         and well done on your first cap for Wales!  (He plays for Llandovery under 16 yrs).  Llandovery

         under 16 yrs have won the Carmarthen Cup beating Felinfoel 28-15 in Nantgaredig R.F.C.  They 

          will now play in Parc Y Scarlets on May 8th against Crymych.  Dafydd Hughes played for Wales

           under20 yrs and they won the Grand Slam Six Nations tournament for Wales - Congratulations.      

           Further congratulations: Llandovery 1st XV have  now qualified for the Principality Premiership    

           playoffs
